A Bit About Me
Hannah Taylor was born and raised in Starkville, Mississippi, where her passion for horses began at an early age. She often credits her Kentucky roots—where both of her parents were raised through college—for sparking her lifelong love of the equestrian world. That passion truly took hold when she received weekly riding lessons for her seventh birthday at J-3 Ranch, setting her on a path that would shape both her career and her life.
Throughout high school, Hannah was actively involved in the National FFA Organization, competing in Envirothon, Veterinary Science, and Extemporaneous Speaking while continuing to enjoy hunting and fishing with her family. During this time, she was also introduced to fox hunting through Hard Away Whitworth Hounds and discovered eventing under the guidance of Karen Stellwag Reynolds.
While attending college, Hannah realized her true calling was not veterinary medicine but horse training and coaching. After graduating, she joined internationally respected trainer Lauren Sprieser as a working student—a position that evolved into serving as barn manager for over a year. She then spent more than four years with Emily Mastervich and Jeff Beshear, where she gained extensive experience managing a competitive program, grooming, teaching, training, and competing. During this time, she successfully completed her first FEI 2*-L event, marking a significant milestone in her eventing career.
Following the 2023 American Eventing Championships, Hannah launched her own training business, focusing on developing young horses and helping adult amateur riders achieve their goals. Throughout her career, she has continued to refine her program by learning from some of the sport's most respected professionals, including Skyeler Icke-Voss, Sharon White, and Lauren Sprieser.
Today, based in Texas, Hannah brings an enthusiastic, individualized approach to training horses and riders at every stage of their journey. She believes in developing confident partnerships through strong horsemanship, thoughtful training, and clear communication. Whether helping a rider gain confidence, bringing along a young horse, or preparing for competition, Hannah is committed to creating a supportive environment where both horse and rider can thrive.
As a competitor, Hannah continues to pursue her long-term goals of competing at the 5* level in eventing while advancing through the USDF medal system. She has also had the privilege of training with many of the sport's top professionals, including Sara Kozumplik, David O'Connor, Lainey Ashker, Michael Barisone, Hannie Sue Barnett, Mike Armstrong, and Clay Cavinder, whose influence continues to shape her philosophy as both a rider and trainer.
